4 weeks ago we went back from Beijing and unfortunately I caught high fever and I had to go to hospital in Sanya: the people's hospital #3. This hospital is the only one that can do the h1n1 test and put you in quarantine if needed. They do not need to send you to Haikou anymore. Thanks God it was not h1n1 but without the help from my chinese coworker it would have been too much difficult for the communication and understand the system here.

Sad to say but this hospital is really for the local people and for the poors. Do not expect to find hygienic standards!!. I went there 3 days for intra-venous injections and while waiting in the corridors I witnessed shocking and unbelievable situations. Kind of "experience" but if you can avoid it......

The wife of my coworker is a nurse at the people's hospital #1 and they have higher standards of medical facilities.

Hopefully Dr. Jack is still in town and fluent in english. Also we are wondering if there are dentists in Sanya??. Where is the new hospital facility along the main road out near the airport, I can not figure out well?.

Anyway stay safe! Cheers, Jerome
