Haitang Bay

According to a recent article at Travel Daily Asia, Starwood Hotels and Resorts has announced the signing of deals to open its first two ‘The Luxury Collection’- branded properties in China.

The Astor Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, is scheduled to open in Tianjin as a Luxury Collection Hotel in May 2010 after a US$22 million renovation, and The Malus Sanya, a Luxury Collection Resort, a new-build resort, is set to open in late 2012.

It will be awhile before we place substantial content in this Haitang Bay section. What we can tell you now from our first hand tour of the area, the following resort brands are under construction along Haitang Bay Nan Lu, targeting 2011 opening dates.

Shangri La Hotel

This starting lineup of resort brands quickly indicates that the Haitang Bay Resort areais being developed as an upscale luxury destination. Your resort is your destination as there are no nearby town/neighborhood areas to visit. There is fifth property under construction and we will post it when we confirm the hotel management brand.
